Pollution Control Board is implementing various environmental legislations, mainly Water Act, 1974, Air Act, 1981, Water Act, 1977 and some of the provisions under Environmental Act, 1986 and the rules framed there under like, Biomedical Waste Rules, 1998, Hazardous Waste Rules, 2000, Municipal Solid Waste Rules, 2000 etc.

The Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) with its headquarter at Nagpur and a network of 5 Circle offices, 18 Sub-circle offices and Central Testing Station has been continuing to serve the public and industry for over 100 years in all matters relating to safety in manufacture, storage, transport and handling of explosives, petroleum, compressed gases and other hazardous substances through comprehensive administration of Explosives Act.

The Commissioner of Labour performs the statutory functions entrusted to him under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947; the Trade Unions Act, 1926; the Industrial Employment Act, 1946; the Minimum Wages Act, 1948; the Working Journalists Ac, 1955; the Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961; and the Bidi and Cigar Workers Act, 1966,Central Acts; and the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946; and the Bombay Shops and Establishments Act, 1948, which are State Acts.

The main objective of the Directorate, Ind. Safety and Health is to ensure safety, health, welfare and working conditions of workers working in factories and in construction works by effectively enforcing the provisions of the Factories Act the Building & Other Const. It also wants to keep constant watch on factories dealing with hazardous chemicals by way of regularly sampling and carrying out medical check-up for workers employed in such processes.

MSEDCL supplies electricity to a staggering 1.86 crore consumers across the categories all over Maharashtra excluding the island city of Mumbai. There are about 1.31 crore residential, 30 lakh agricultural, 13.46 lakh commercial and 2.5 lakh industrial consumers in MSEDCL area which fetch an annual revenue of about Rs. 33,000 crore.

The function of this department is to carry out yearly inspection of steam boilers after they are registered in this State or after recording their transfer from other States and to grant working certificates thereof to ensure their safe working and also to prevent emission of smoke from furnaces and chimneys in excess of legal limits and to prevent any new furnaces being erected before plans are approved by this department.

FDA ensures that these products are in compliance with the law and FDA regulations. Non compliance will be promptly identified and corrected, and any unsafe or unlawful product will be removed from the market place and appropriate action will be taken against all concerned.

Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) is a part of the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It deals with the tasks of formulation of policy concerning levy and collection of Customs and Central Excise duties, prevention of smuggling and administration of matters relating to Customs, Central Excise and Narcotics to the extent under CBEC's purview.

The Indian Income Tax Department is governed by the Central Board for Direct Taxes (CBDT) and is part of the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India.

Land can be called non agricultural land, if any activity in the nature of development is carried over on the land which makes land unfit for cultivation. Under section 44 of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code 1966, before carrying out any development on the land, an eligible person has to apply to the collector for the permission to convert the use of agricultural land for any non-agricultural purpose, or to change the use of land from one non-agricultural purpose to another non-agricultural purpose.

MIDC Plots were allotted through online processing of application after publication of advertisement as per MIDC circular dated 13 Sep 2019. However, keeping in view the pressing demand of additional land for bigger investment by the applicants and also cases of plots which are land locked, it was felt necessary by MIDC to revise the existing guidelines. MIDC has therefore revised the guidelines for preferential allotment of the plots for the expansion of the business vides its Circular No. A93260 dated 11 March 2020.
